Broker's Comments

Here we have a well found and interesting yacht from the late '70's, a beamy, bilge keeled, 28 footer with sailing performance that wouldn't disgrace a club racer. She's a fast cruising yacht constructed by British Aluminium Co when electricity was cheap and they thought they'd try their hand at yacht building, to a design by the renowned Robert Tucker design team. Very well constructed and virtually indestructible, this Sarum 28 has been sympathetically restored by her present owner after, we believe, 17 years of previous ownership. With excellent interior joinery she has a warm and spacious feel below decks with some clever and unusual features - a fully gimballed galley for example. The dinette converts to a massive double in the saloon and a spacious fore cabin provides a second double berth. Her heads compartment is also large and well appointed. The one place that she shows her age is in the worn Treadmaster on deck, but a keen new owner will soon sort that I'm sure. If you're looking for a smart ready to sail cruising yacht that will take the ground, while being impervious to rust and osmosis, and one which provides something just a little bit differant to 'run of the mill' 28 footers then take a look at this Sarum 28.

Hi Michael, thank you for your comments.
The engine hours are not recorded on this model. As you can see from the details it is original. I can confirm it starts, runs and performs exactly as it should. As with all second hand boats, it is advisable that an independent survey is carried out which would highlight any electrolysis issues. At this stage i can say that there was nothing obvious to the naked eye when she was last out of the water (spring 2017). The deck gear confirms the equipment which is part of the sale, there is no dingy or engine as the boat has been used exclusively from a marina berth and never anchored. The lines are led to the cockpit which helps with single handed sailing.
Hope this helps.

Hello!
How many hours run the engine? Rudder bearings are OK? Are there any appearences of electrolytic corrosion on the hull? Inflatable and outboarder available? Single sailing possible?
I mlooking for a seaworthy smaller cruiser to sail Atlantic waters going to the Med.
Many thanks!
Kind regards!
