Boatshed Dartmouth are delighted to offer for sale a rare Super Seal 26. Designed by Ron Holland and built originally by John Baker just 100 were built before the rights were sold to Parkers. They then continued the design as the Parker 27, after various interior layout changes going on to become the Parker 27. They are known for being fast little yachts with the distinct advantage of a very shallow draft (just over a foot) and a good interior layout. This example appears to have been very well looked after and the Yanmar engine install in 1997 looks particularly impressive. In December 2000 "Sailing Today" magazine listed the Super Seal as one of the "top five used boats of the year", along with some old favourites such as the Contessa 32 and Elizabethan 30. Their review gave it five stars for performance, and four for accommodation, which they described as ".... much better than you would expect in such a fast boat." Incidentally, the RYA quote a Portsmouth Number of 976, making her faster than a Contessa 32, and also faster than many 34 foot cruising yachts!
4th July in the year 2000 was Independence Day – for me. As a young twenty something I became a proud home owner for the very first time, and that home was a 45 foot red narrowboat called Emily Rose. I knew very little about boats but I’d met some friendly boaters on the towpath and they introduced me to their mates, and they were all glad to share their boating wisdom and advice with me. I learned to steer a boat, tie knots, check the oil and recognise the sound of a loose fan belt. And yet other things beneath the deck-boards remain a mystery to this day; some things are better left to the experts!
The ships from the P&O fleet sailed into their home port before dawn yesterday.
Boatshed Dartmouth are delighted to offer for sale a Ocqueteau 775. This is a very well laid out boat with a large cockpit and spacious wheelhouse. Although dated 2004 the boat was used as a demonstrator and not actually wetted until 2008. The cockpit can be fully enclosed with a cockpit enclosure to create additional space and cockpit cushions ensure plenty of comfortable seating. Below, the heads are to starboard and a large double berth to port under the cockpit. The boat has been cleaned and polished throughout. Please note that the sink and gas hob need to re-connected by a qualified gas installer. Included with the sale is a Selva 4-stroke auxiliary outboard. Appointments to view can be booked in advance 6-days a week directly with Paul Singer your Boatshed Dartmouth broker.
Boatshed Newport was in the house for the final day of racing at the America's Cup World Series. It was yet again a fantastic day although the winds a bit calmer. The first race featured Oracle Teams USA Spithill and Coutts in a final heat with Coutts the triumphant winner. He claims the title for the most America's Cup victories.
Alaska residents Eric and Katie purchased their 1984 47’ CHB Tri-Cabin Trawler from Waterline Boats / Boatshed Seattle last year. After outfitting their “new” boat at our Seattle, Lake Union docks Eric and Katie cruised KRAKEN north to Alaska and then crossed the Gulf of Alaska to Valdez where she is now homeported. Waterline Boats recently received this report from Eric.
“The Cornish Shrimper 19 is the most popular model in the Cornish Crabbers range. She has a classic styling that appeals to sailors from any generation and a build quality that will match her reputation as the best British production Gaffer of all time. Cornish Crabbers have built over 1000 Cornish Shrimpers since 1979 with the original boats still sailing all over the world. The self draining cockpit in the Cornish Shrimper 19 is vast compared to other boats of her size and the companionway leads down to a classic 2 berth arrangement with space for a sea toilet if required” says Cornish Crabbers.

Boatshed Newport was at the America’s Cup Village at Fort Adams today, which was swarming with people from around the world here to witness the spectacular race. Everywhere I walked I heard a foreign language spoken and it was a beautiful day.
The summer has already started, but this weekend kicks off the official Newport festivities with the Americas Cup Sailing Series. Finally, it is the weekend all locals and yachties have been anticipating for months. As of today, Newport is already bustling and traffic is a bit unbearable. I took Blue, our Boatshed mini mascot, for an early morning walk. We stopped in at a lovely little coffee shop named The Coffee Grinder, which has an amazing view of the harbor and is located at the end of Bannisters Wharf. The Coffee Grinder has delicious coffee, yummy treats and friendly yachties having morning conversation. I highly recommend this place to the coffee or boat addict – or both.

Boatshed Dartmouth are pleased to offer for sale an ex-demonstrator model of the Salcombe Launch. The Salcombe Launch was originally designed by one of Salcombe’s best known shipbuilders, Edgar Cove. The Salcombe Launch has a displacement hull, a high freeboard and a spacious deep interior, making it dry and very stable. The traditional transom-hung large rudder with tiller steering makes the boat easy to manoeuvre in any conditions. There is ample stowage in lockers forward, aft and under the cockpit seats. She is fitted with mahogany rubbing strakes, stainless steel deck fittings and the 13.5hp Beta inboard sits in a sound-proofed moulded engine box. This example is available now as an ex-demonstrator with considerable savings on the new price and comes complete with sprayhood and cockpit cushions (usually extras). These really are stunning looking boats and feedback I have received from owners is nothing short of glowing in every respect. Viewings are by prior appointment with your Boatshed Dartmouth broker, Paul Singer and are available 6-days a week.

Waterline Boats / Boatshed Seattle is again offering boats through Boatshed.com’s BoatBid online auction. This international auction is a proven process to market boats in a unique and effective way. This is NOT an eBay-style auction — these are boats after all, and any buyer will want to be cautious to ensure a survey, a demonstration and maybe other contingencies are factored into the purchase process. BoatBid respects that! We’re all about making buyers and sellers comfortable and confident throughout the transaction. BoatBid is a good way to connect potential buyers with sellers — and the boat of their dreams!
