Everything from sunshine to hail!
Boatshed Dartmouth are pleased to offer for sale a RIB X Excite – which is NOT a RIB at all! This is a good looking sports boat with plenty of cockpit seating – for fun or just lounging around on. She has only been lightly used and kept on launch and recovery service so you’ll see she has never even been anti-fouled. Appointments to view can be booked in advance and generally are available 6-days a week
Boatshed Dartmouth are pleased to offer for sale an example of the ever popular Westerly Centaur. The Centaur as everyone knows turned out to be one of the highest production boats in the UK with over 2000 built. This example has undergone some restoration of late including a refurbished engine and new upholstery. There is still a bit to do but overall she is well presented. Appointments to view can be booked in advance and generally are available 6-days a week
Stephen from BoatshedPlymouth is very pleased to have just listed this beautiful Stingray 250 CS. Not only is she in excellent condition, but she comes with a Bramber twin axle road trailer that has never been used and the boat is still under the manufacturers 5 year hull warranty!
Safety on the water is paramount but ever thought about how the emergency services would reach you should there be a problem? The firefighters at Wroxham Fire Station have recently begun training with a small rescue boat to aid future rescue attempts on nearby Broadland waterways.
We’re talking about the Ranger Tugs R-29. This 2010 absolutely-like-new trawler comes standard with everything you could imagine including the galley sink plus many customizations!
Boatshed Dartmouth are pleased to offer for sale a Monterey 218LC. This is great looking sports boat and has the distinct advantage of a diesel inboard. She is also fitted with Eberspacer cabin heating – a nice touch indeed with outlets in the saloon and cockpit. She is well presented and has been kept recently on a launch and recovery service. Detailed photos show the standard of both the topsides and underwater hull area. Appointments to view can be booked in advance and generally are available 6-days a week
Yesterday was a perfect sailing day with a westerly F5 gusting F6. We were taking a Jeanneau 54DS out for a shakedown sail after some adjustments to the in-mast furling gear. We decided to unfurl in the harbour as there were lumpy seas beyond the harbour entrances. Just as we headed into wind we lost steering on the starboard helm and 30 secs later on the port helm too. Before we knew it the yacht was going round in circles and getting perilously close to the harbour wall and some rocks.
There is a lot of information on the internet about living on narrowboats, barges or canal boats. We have a selection of narrowboats for sale on the inland waterways and we also have Dutch barges and more unusual boats, barges and project boats for sale. Some of our customers have questions about which kind of boat is most suitable for living aboard?
A lot of the second hand boats we have for sale in Essex are sailing boats. We have Moody yachts for sale, racing yachts for sale, Jeanneau boats for sale and much more. When you’re thinking of berthing or mooring your yacht do you ever find yourself daunted by crowded conditions? Manoeuvring under sail is much easier in less crowded harbours. It can be quite intimidating with an audience watching you mooring and anchoring. However, all mooring and anchoring, under sail or power, should be done slowly, with an awareness of the wind and the tide.
I imagine every broker has a boat on their books that stands out above the rest, ..........Well here's mine.
Here is an ideal opportunity, courtesy of Boatshed Port Solent, to acquire one of the most well respected and sought-after boats afloat today!
We at Boatshed Port Solent like to keep a weather eye on the Queen’s Harbour Master’s Notices to Mariners. Now folks, Notices to Mariners are usually pretty boring, but if you take the trouble to look, you might even find a fun day out – look below and you may just see what I mean!
Despite a rather wet couple of days, in the middle of the week long show, the attendance was better than expected during the global financial crisis at the 24th Empuriabrava used boats show here in the Costa Brava, Spain. We managed to convince some owners that this is the prime time to try and attract the fewer buyers that are actively searching for a boat and to reduce the prices of their boats to sell in the current market.
Boatshed Dartmouth are pleased to offer for sale an example of the ever popular Westerly Griffons. Just over 320 were built from 1979 to 1981 making this Griffon one of the last original Griffon 26’s built. Without doubt the Griffon is that bit bigger, faster and easier to handle than the Centaur. This one is presented clean and tidy throughout with just some of the headlinings needing attention. Appointments to view can be booked in advance and generally are available 6-days a week
Pacific Nor’West Boating – Adventuring Afloat in the Pacific Northwest is a new e-magazine and home to well-known editor and marine writer Chuck Gould!
The sun is out and the new boating season has started! Boatshed Norfolk is looking forward to some great weekends on the Norfolk Broads at some of the events already planned for 2012. Make sure you have these dates in your diaries and we look forward to seeing customers both past and present out and about on the water:-
We have had several new listings recently. This 30 foot narrowboat with Cruiser Stern comes with a mooring at Broxbourne.
As you may well know, we are based at Fambridge Yacht Haven; a charming location on the River Crouch, set in the beautiful Essex countryside. Fambridge Yacht Haven have recently joined the RYA Active Marina Programme which aims to encourage Berth Holders and their crew to make the most of life with their boats. With the support of West Wick Yacht Club and local training centre First Class Sailing East Coast, the RYA are launching a new programme of free marina-based training workshops and social meet-ups. We were happy to be the broker that recently sold First Class Sailing East Coast one of their training yachts. There are a number of fun events scheduled throughout the summer, starting off with the programme launch and WWYC Open Day on 19th May. Boatshed Essex will be at the open day and all berth holders and their crew are invited.
