I’ve blogged several times this year about not having enough water in the canal, and now that it’s June I can barely face venturing onto the front deck because the rain is relentless! (I’m writing this on Monday but anything could happen in the next few days!)

Here at Boatshed Grand Union we have an exciting range of boats for sale listed at the moment, several of them with moorings. Our boat of the moment is a 60ft Cruiser Stern narrowboat with a residential London mooring. We also have two houseboats on freehold moorings. For a smaller budget we have a 40ft narrowboat with cruiser stern and a number of boats reduced in price featured on our home page.(If you register you can see up to 80 photos of each boat listed.)

This weekend’s boating events include: Middlewich Folk and Boat Festival, a craft and classic car fair at Ellesmere Port, and watercolour workshops at the Bingley Five Rise. Visit Waterscape for waterways event details.

On the 22nd June I’m thinking of going to the Braunston historic narrowboat rally and canal festival, even though our wellies are still drying out from the Crick Boat Show. The next event that Boatshed Grand Union will be visiting is the Stratford River Festival in Warwickshire, from 29th June until 1st July. It’s a free festival with music and narrow boats on the River Avon. There’ll be craft and food stalls, a family area, charity stalls, an illuminated boat parade and a firework display.

It may have been wet and windy but the boat shows and festivals are now truly under way and that means that British Summertime is officially here!
