Commentaires du Broker

Every once in a while I come across a truly remarkable boat where the qualities of design, build quality, performance under power and sail, along with proper upgrading and continued maintenance come together to provide a remarkable opportunity for the next owner. This is just such a vessel. The versatility of inside helm with great 360 visibility for travel with the comfort of a trawler or steer from the cockpit helm with the sheets close at hand as a full blown cutter. Such a beautiful, classy little ship.

Comments from the seller

"This is a very unique boat I have owned and loved since 2000 and have traveled on for 15,000 nautical miles. She is usually the prettiest boat in the harbor and gets a lot of looks. My wife calls her my mistress. She was even in the Washington State calendar in 1999. She was built by the Flying Dutchman Yachts group and designed by Andrew Davidhazy, “built for the comfort of the first mate”. She is hull one of four and was in the 1977 Kingdome boat show, so she had extra detail work done. Of the four made this is the only one that has been well-maintained. With the boat comes a copy of the Washington State Calendar, the 1977 boat show guide “Castoff”, pictures of the boat being uncrated in Vancouver BC, and blueprints from the designer.

"She is a very comfortable boat with wide decks and shrouds out of the way. She has a beautiful solid teak pilothouse with the rare design of a dinette in the pilothouse, so your passengers are always in bright light, can take in the vistas and see where you are going while staying warm. She is so stable you can leave your coffee cup about anywhere and it will be fine. In the winter with the Dickenson stove she is warm and cozy. Often I’m inside cruising in my shorts with a coffee whilst I watch my fellow sailors freeze in the wind and rain.

"She has an awesome range under power -- you can motor from Seattle to Desolation Sound and back without refueling. She has a large galley and sleeps five, the rest you can see in the pictures."
