Broker's Comments

Getting on board this Whitbread 60 was a rare treat and, in fact, standing on the foredeck, I was taken back to Laurie Smith and 1992 when this thing must have been hammering across the Southern Ocean. It’s a credit to the builders and designers of these boats really on how it’s stood the test of time and also to the current owners who have languished a great deal of care and attention on this boat.

Despite its vintage, this Whitbred 60 is clearly extremely well put together, take a special note of the keel bolt area and the over-engineering that’s gone into these and the mast step support.
It’s a nice change to be able to crawl around inside these performance boats and not get filthy dirty, this one looks well cared for, clean and dry in even the most remote areas eg stern and bow.

A great boat for sail training as well as corporate entertainment, fast and exhilarating without some of the health and safety concerns that might be involved with running an open 60 under similar circumstances. MCA Cat 2 coded for charter.
The current owners have taken great care to preserve lots of the original features but not skimped on maintenance or refurbishment, a recent Yanmar main engine with only 250 hours is a typical example of this regime.
