That’s right; you know you enjoy those long bank holiday weekends, sailing or boating with friends, but have you ever thought what you’re really buying in to?

When you are looking for a boat for sale in Essex it’s not just our selection of yachts and sailing boats that you’re looking for.

Sailing and boating are a wonderful way to relax. Your doctor will tell you how important it is to reduce stress and schedule in some “me time”. If you have an office job, stick a photo of your dream boat on to your computer, and remember: some day, you’re going to run away to sea! Because you’re worth it… if only for a weekend or a holiday.

Handling your boat and sails can involve plenty of physical activity, and this will build up muscle strength and stamina without the monotony of going to the gym. It’s also a great opportunity to spend some undisturbed quality time with your family and friends.

Sailing also gives you a chance to stimulate your mind as you continually learn new skills. Find out about new knots, and how to set the sails for different kinds of weather. If you’re new to sailing you’ll also be learning to use a chart and compass and perhaps studying tides and weather patterns. Get the whole crew involved and you may even be able to impress the kids with your nautical knowledge. When it comes to children, thinking outside the box means that you can appeal to their individual interests whether that’s oceanography, wildlife at sea, geography, art or music: teach them some shanties!

So when you buy your next boat, remember the value of what you’re getting: a life with some regular relaxing health benefits, exercise that is actually fun, an opportunity to improve your closest relationships and stimulation and education for your mind. Can you really put a price on that?
