Sunday, 01 July 2012

“The Cornish Shrimper 19 is the most popular model in the Cornish Crabbers range. She has a classic styling that appeals to sailors from any generation and a build quality that will match her reputation as the best British production Gaffer of all time. Cornish Crabbers have built over 1000 Cornish Shrimpers since 1979 with the original boats still sailing all over the world.
The self draining cockpit in the Cornish Shrimper 19 is vast compared to other boats of her size and the companionway leads down to a classic 2 berth arrangement with space for a sea toilet if required” says Cornish Crabbers.

America's Cup Newport Schedule of Events

Thursday, 28 June 2012

The summer has already started, but this weekend kicks off the official Newport festivities with the Americas Cup Sailing Series. Finally, it is the weekend all locals and yachties have been anticipating for months.
As of today, Newport is already bustling and traffic is a bit unbearable. I took Blue, our Boatshed mini mascot, for an early morning walk. We stopped in at a lovely little coffee shop named The Coffee Grinder, which has an amazing view of the harbor and is located at the end of Bannisters Wharf. The Coffee Grinder has delicious coffee, yummy treats and friendly yachties having morning conversation. I highly recommend this place to the coffee or boat addict – or both.

New Instructions – Salcombe Launch 16 (ex demonstrator) for sale

Tuesday, 26 June 2012

Boatshed Dartmouth are pleased to offer for sale an ex-demonstrator model of the Salcombe Launch. The Salcombe Launch was originally designed by one of Salcombe’s best known shipbuilders, Edgar Cove. The Salcombe Launch has a displacement hull, a high freeboard and a spacious deep interior, making it dry and very stable. The traditional transom-hung large rudder with tiller steering makes the boat easy to manoeuvre in any conditions. There is ample stowage in lockers forward, aft and under the cockpit seats. She is fitted with mahogany rubbing strakes, stainless steel deck fittings and the 13.5hp Beta inboard sits in a sound-proofed moulded engine box. This example is available now as an ex-demonstrator with considerable savings on the new price and comes complete with sprayhood and cockpit cushions (usually extras). These really are stunning looking boats and feedback I have received from owners is nothing short of glowing in every respect. Viewings are by prior appointment with your Boatshed Dartmouth broker, Paul Singer and are available 6-days a week.

Waterline Boats / Boatshed Seattle is again offering boats through’s BoatBid online auction. This international auction is a proven process to market boats in a unique and effective way. This is NOT an eBay-style auction — these are boats after all, and any buyer will want to be cautious to ensure a survey, a demonstration and maybe other contingencies are factored into the purchase process. BoatBid respects that! We’re all about making buyers and sellers comfortable and confident throughout the transaction.
